I’m sure most of you know this…all herbs except basil can be planted now if you don’t have them coming back from last year.
Oregano, thyme and sage should be dug out and replaced at least every 3 to 4 years, the stem/stalk of these three will become very woody, crack and break easily…allowing water and cold to seep deep into the plants stem and usually kills the whole plant…..I leave some to grow as long as they will for the beauty of older plants/shrubs…plant a few new ones ever year or two for assurance of having a healthy crop.
Dill is an annual, however it will often times reseed…I intersperse fresh seed just to be sure.
Sage and mints are filling in…chives are ready to snip, thyme bed is in the process of being relocated…it grows quickly and will be on thyme!!
Any old outside containers that you don’t have a purpose for but don’t wish to trash…plant them with fitting crops…it will be a pretty focal point and cut down on breeding of mosquito’s .
