The vote is in, and the lady made the grade! I can’t wait to see what magic she’s got up her sleeve to benefit students.
Yes, I’m excited. I got to read Cory Gardener’s message after his visit with her:
I enjoyed meeting with Betsy DeVos, President-elect Trump’s intended nominee for Secretary of Education. Ms. DeVos’s commitment to rolling back Common Core and returning control over our children’s education back to the states and local communities where it belongs makes her a strong choice to lead the Department of Education. Ms. DeVos understands we need less Washington, D.C. in our schools, and I look forward to working with her to ensure the next generation has access to a world-class education.
What an INCREDIBLE steward of educational assets she will be.
As a home school mom who sent two to public school for their final year, I’m looking forward to the outcome based education package that allows home school students to have actual benefits and accreditation, when they make the grade.
It was extremely frustrating sorting through stacks of papers and providing way more proof than had been required for a public school graduate to sign a son into the military. To the point of seeking out legislators he’d worked for and asking for documentation from them – what about those kids who haven’t worked for legislators? How the heck do they join the Army?
And that was after he’d successfully been in the work force for a few years…
There’s a point in time where the reality of what is being dismissed by ‘public officials’ is the wrong situation. It shouldn’t have happened. And I can’t wait to work with Ms. DeVos to fix the problem.
