Perhaps a bit too far?
The Keystone Pipeline in progress is a good thing, because it overturns the overwhelming regulations of the EPA, and various indignant persons hell bent on destroying the idea of a pipeline and American oil, but the constraints of only using American steel? I don’t think you have the authority to command a business purchase ONLY American. Isn’t it enough to give them options? We have such a huge open opportunity here to build business, connect businesses, and make businesses profitable, why mess it up with an overlord requirement?
Cut the excess and let them figure out their own suppliers. If you choose to tax incoming steel, that’s an amazing options, and would have to be included in the budget, but I’m not seeing the limitation as the same kind of constraint.
Chicago Laws are Crap
Yeah, we pretty much all agree. And the people in Chicago are scared of their own shadows. Plus, they haven’t done such a great job of handling their violence problem. Yet, there again, Mr. Trump… It’s beyond your authority to fix the problem. Local law enforcement has a duty to fix their local violence, vandalism, rioting hordes of criminals. You can’t send in the FEDS, they have to figure it out.
Perhaps you could offer a round table with other Sheriff’s and Law Enforcement Officers from around the country who might offer some suggestions? Then let them figure it out from there.
Hint: stricter gun laws aren’t going to fix it.
