“One’s country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it’s the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.”
I’m reminded of a current battle ground, on which we stood not so long ago, fighting for freedom here in the United States, at the voting booth. The difference between candidates prior to the election to some appeared minimal.
One had been a Democrat most of his life, yet his choices indicated his capitalistic nature. His determination to make good on principles of monetary gain had brought him to this place. A place where he would be asked to ‘give up’ the fortune for which he’d worked a lifetime and all that it entailed to serve as President of a country ravaged by the tyranny of a man who had never worked a day in his life. He won the office with a message about the nation “Make America Great Again.”
The other, a democrat by name, a communistic socialist by action, proclaimed herself to be greater than all others, and continued to claim the office of president as HERS, long after she lost the election. Her message also was strong, self-evident, and patriot-effacing, “Make America MINE Again” because obviously, she hadn’t taken enough of America away her first time sitting in the white house as first lady. Today, she continues to disgrace our nation with her libelous claims and blames.
Most of us wish she would just sit down and shut up. But she doesn’t. She continues speaking out, lying, and misrepresenting any truth that may have ever existed in her tenure as first lady, as senator, and as secretary of state. She’s an embarrassment first to our nation, and then to women everywhere.
D-Day Remembrance Again
As we remember the fight for freedom, D-Day 1944, now just 73 years later, we face a similar D-Day here in the United States. No, we’re not fighting a fascist such as Adolph Hitler. American Forefathers, and the Constitution, prevent such horrifying debacles as that in many ways, and yet… We’re faced with people who didn’t study history, and therefore, are bound to repeat it. Generations have passed, with not enough remembrances of battles such as Normandy, or more importantly, not enough remembrances of the causes.
Some would say it does not…
The man on ‘the other ticket’, the one who got the nod and spent the next many months fighting for the outcome, to WIN the election, where he would ultimately give up the gracious, comfortable lifestyle he’d earned, and live within the limitations and restraints of being President of the Free World. His sacrifice may not be much, when compared to middle class or even lower class America, and yet, it was substantial for him.
He already had his own Jet. Now he travels in Air Force One, a hand-me-down from previous presidents, where he travels with staff, secret service, and any reporters who deem themselves sturdy enough to tag along.
And he serves under the humiliation of daily misreported incidences, out and out lies by the media, misrepresentations, and bullying actions by the DNC… Not to mention all the same from many on his side of the political fence who disagree with him.
Right or wrong? No real matter one way or the other. The point is, he made the choice, and now he’s in it to win it. And in the end… We win. We will, you know. We, Americans, will ultimately regain what was lost, because that’s what Americans do. Meanwhile, we’ve got a President who CHOSE to give it all up to be our representative and FIGHT on the BEACHES of the WORLD to preserve the American Constitutional Exceptionalism that we’ve proven worthy of our efforts.
Now, as we remember the Beaches of Normandy and the Battles fought there, the men who gave everything they had there on those beaches and in those battles, I hope we also consider the importance of reiterating history and fighting again, for the battle ahead of us.
In the end, we win.
No doubt about that, but meanwhile, the battle is raging. Be steadfast warriors. We know for whom we fight!
And, Thank you, Donald J. Trump for stepping into the battle zone, a warrior, determined to “Make America GREAT Again!”
