Vice President Mike Pence supports the Olympics by showing up in South Korea, and the press blows up over the North Korean “sister of rocket man” sitting behind him.
Then Olympic contender shares his thoughts:
Outspoken US figure skater Adam Rippon said he doesn’t want his feud with US Vice President Mike Pence to overshadow his Winter Olympics but isn’t about to stop voicing his mind.
Speaking at a press conference in Pyeongchang, South Korea Tuesday, Rippon said he stood by his recent criticism of Pence’s position on LGBT rights.
Is it all about Mike Pence?
Whether he wants it to be or not, Adam Rippon created the stir, and shadowed his own Winter Olympic performance by mouthing off about Mike Pence’s religious belief.
I find it interesting that so many wish to spread their Christian hatred, announcing their disgust with Christian values publicly, putting out that Christians are the ones who spread hatred. No… Mike Pence hasn’t said a word about his belief during his visit there. And didn’t make appointments with heads of state to spread a political agenda, either. His presence there was about the Olympics.
But Rippon wanted a confrontation, and a stage.
He got one. He pushed his talent to the background (I don’t even know what he was there to contend) and made his political agenda front and foremost for me. Too bad… Whatever his talent was, he could have been celebrated for that. Now, he’ll go down in history for his hatred of a man who showed up to support him in the Olympics.
That’s a sad day!
